Projects

I don’t remember a time when I was not involved in a project. Over the years, I joined initiatives that mirrored my own journey. These projects mean a lot to me, some are dormant, others are very active, you can find out more about each of them here.

Dublin L10n unconference & Student-led conference

We relaunched the Dublin edition of the Localization Unconference in 2019.

Plans to organise a parallel student-led unconference are also underway, with the collaboration of Professor Sharon O'Brien, School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) | Dublin City University.

Both unconferences will resume when they can be held in person, not online.

Women Co

I met María Ortega García, the original founder of Women Co (Women who co-work - Ireland), when I started exploring the coworking scene in Dublin in 2017. We clicked instantly and I came on board to help organise events with an emphasis on connection, support and education of women across all industries. In May 2020, Women Co was relaunched with a new team and a renewed focus on connection. Together with Magda, Francy & Ola, we committed to providing women with a safe space to cowork and engage with one another. I contributed my event management experience, intercultural communication skills and many years of working in the tech industry into the mix.

Grow Remote

Within the global Grow Remote network, I ran the Ashford Wicklow Grow Remote chapter and worked towards building a thriving community of remote workers locally, with a dual goal: connect remote workers in the region, share stories and support each other, and enable the 70% of surveyed commuters who said they would take a similar job in Wicklow if available, to actually find remote work.

Dublin Flamenco Festival

Dublin Flamenco Festival ran for 5 consecutive editions between 2009 and 2015, featuring some of today's most influential flamenco artists and a programme exploring dance, song and music. The festival is currently paused. The festival has been funded by the Instituto Andaluz del Flamenco, FEDER, Radio Exterior de España, Dublin City Council, the Arts Council, RTÉ lyric fm, Waltons New School of Music, the Spanish Embassy in Dublin, and supported by Dublin Dance Festival, Olivier Cornet Gallery and Jerez Jondo, to only name a few cultural partners. “Dublin Flamenco Festival is an exquisite balance between the pure, gypsy tradition and the new trends in dance and music. Thanks to Peña Flamenca El Indalo, the Republic of Ireland takes a well-deserved spot in the international agenda of flamenco festivals." Manuel Moraga, Radio Exterior de España.
